What type of poetry do you prefer writing? Free verse, rhyming, or structured?

Hi Madeleine!! While I don't really consider myself a poet (I'm just not very good at it), I still find myself writing one every now and then. When I do, I typically find myself drawn more toward a rhyming scheme (generally ABCB). That's just how I naturally write poetry for some reason. Free Verse.....I just don't do. If it doesn't have rhyme or rhythm, I just can't write it. In regards to structure....I have an exercise/challenge for you...should you choose to accept it Let's write an acrostic poem, which is a poem where the first letters of each line have a meaning when read down the edge of the poem. I'll go first. The following is a poem I wrote for a scrapbook page I did for my niece. She was looking out the window in sort of a daze and I wrote the following: DAYDREAMDrifting on my thoughts About what my life might be Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow Doesn’t really matter to me Realizing who & what I am Every moment of every day Always makes me happy More than words can say

;D I love poetry. All styles, especially those that tell a story, kinda like a prose. I would love to take a poetry class or even give one.

Haikus can be fun.
But I prefer a rhyme scheme,
With lyrics that flow.
